WHO IS STAFFAN PAULSON?
I’ve always been facinated by nice chords, especially when they’re sung by the human voice. In my early teens, I started listening to Singers Unlimited and other great groups, and when I eventually started singing myself, I got more and more into ”jazzy harmonies”. Throughout the years I’ve tried a lot of different styles like traditional male and mixed choruses, with or without orchestra, barbershop, and various vocal groups, both jazzy or more modern.
While studying at the Malmö Academy of Music, I joined a mixed double quartet and got to sing many of Ward Swingles fantastic arrangements. That group later transformed into a more modern sextett called Vocability,
Vocal Six
Since 1988 I sing in Vocal Six, where I also do most of the arranging as well as work with the administration, booking and such. Many of the arrangements offered here are written for this group, and sometimes optimized for a mixed chorus.
